Co-Curricular Activities for 2019

Activities for 2019 will begin week 5 of Term 1 (week beginning 25 February).  This will allow sport and camps to be the focus for the start of the year.   These groups usually continue throughout the school year up until the end of Term 3.

Letter and Registration Form

Makerspace: $20 per term.  ON HOLD

Robotics: $100/ term   WS101 Centre for Innovation
Tuesday 3:40 – 5pm with Anna Ross 

Robotics: Free   WS101.  Period 5 Wednesday or Friday Lunchtimes with a student tutor (Tessa and Caitlyn)

   Code Club: Free  WS103 & WS104
      Beginners: Thursday 3:40 – 5pm with Tutor Danielle 
      Intermediate: Thursday 3:40 - 5pm with Jon  

Maker Club [previously Internet of Things]: WS101
      Thursday 3:40 - 5pm with an external Tutor: Bryn Lewis

SMC Quest: WS101.  Period 5 Monday Lunchtime with Ms Chong  ON HOLD

Evolocity  
     This is held with other Canterbury schools off-site
     Participants in this club will need to be independent and self-driven to complete a project throughout the year

Farmbot
     This community group meets during the weekend at SMC and is open to all adults and children 
     [ you do not need to be directly connected to SMC]

   Construction Club  
     This is a new club that started at the end of 2018. In 2019 this club will run on Mondays during period 5 lunch and break time in WS101 with Ms Campbell.  Some students will get an opportunity to be selected as part of a 4 person team to compete at the EPRO8 competition in Christchurch.

   Minecraft Club  
     This is new club starting Term 2 2019.  It will be led by some keen students who are being mentored by Ms Campbell.  This group is open to year 4 - 10 students and will operate on Thursday period 5 lunch and break.
